Using Pinterest to Create Your Dream Day

Planning your wedding is no easy task, however, there are an abundance of helpful tools out there to make the process a bit less stressful. One of our top favorite resources is Pinterest. Let’s dive into everything you’ll need to do in order to use this resource in the best way possible.

CREATE A SEPARATE ACCOUNT

Oftentimes Pinterest is used by young girls to daydream about their special day. When it comes time, we want to make sure those boards are up to date and ready to serve you. Creating a separate account where you are able to construct all of your wedding boards is an amazing way to stay organized. If you created your Pinterest account while you were in middle school, chances are you have a few (hundred) outdated pins. Don’t let these old trends fog up your feed and just take the plunge. New name, new Pinterest account, am I right?

STICK TO ONE STYLE

Once you have a separate Pinterest account you will be able to go “board” crazy by creating a new board for each element. When curating your Pinterest though, make sure that you are sticking to one style. Know your colors and theme beforehand. This is important as you will most likely use these boards when meeting with different vendors. In order to keep these boards useful, pin items to them that are ideas for your wedding specifically, and not just everything you see that you like. If you are having a neutral boho wedding, refrain from pinning that neon pink industrial light up sign. Pinterest has a great feature to help you find pins with similar styles. When you expand a pin, keep scrolling and below will be an array of pins “more like” the selected pin.

CHOOSE YOUR BOARDS

Knowing where to start when creating Pinterest boards can be a bit taxing. We have a ton of amazing boards over on our Pinterest that you can follow, or simply take inspiration from. To start, set up boards for all of your different vendors. This can range from florals, cakes, the venue and ceremony set up, all the way to photography, including photo inspiration and styles you like. Then add in your details such as stationary, wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, accessories, and hair and makeup. Once you get going the possibilities are endless.

Overall, have fun with it. This is your day and Pinterest is just there to help. Go crazy girl and don’t forget to catch us on our Riding Tandem Pinterest page!
