Spring has sprung and we are already on our way toward Summer, can you believe it?! There are so many fun ideas floating around, so it is time for another trend report. Today, we will break down three ideas that inspire us, incorporating a rainbow color palette, retro-style photography, and private last dances.

RAINBOW COLOR PALETTE

The first trend is the modern rainbow color palette! Sophisticated and subtle multicolor tones are big this year. Now, this one may sound overwhelming, but with the right balance, the rainbow color palette will work brilliantly. There are a few things to keep in mind to achieve this look. First, choose a few specific areas to add color and keep everything else white. This style will work best with the principle of “less is more”.  The modern rainbow palette will work great with mismatched bridesmaid dresses, floral selections, or as part of the tablescape. On the tablescape, keep white as the primary color and choose just one element to make colorful, like the napkin, menu, candles, or glassware. Second, steer clear of the “Crayola” shades; either go for soft and muted or rich jewel tones. The simple white background will ensure the colors pop. This style will keep your wedding playful and fun while maintaining a modern look.

RETRO STYLE PHOTOS

So many couples are loving the retro-inspired, film photography style to capture their wedding day with a dreamlike quality. The photos turn out with muted colors, or in black and white, and are often a little blurred; they are perfectly imperfect. These photos seem to capture the true essence of the night with a dramatic, editorial result. For this style, find a photographer that shoots film. Keep in mind that the results of film photography can be a little unpredictable, but that is part of the fun! Alternatively, many photographers shoot on a digital camera, but edit their photos in a style similar to film, this option may provide a more predictable result. Lastly, if you want a film vibe in addition to standard photos, grab a polaroid camera and assign a friend to take snaps throughout the night, or provide guests with disposable cameras to fill with memories. Developing the disposable film will show you the night through your guests' eyes!

PRIVATE LAST DANCE

At the end of the night, take some time with your man to have a private moment together. Your wedding day will be exciting, memorable, beautiful, and often is a total blur by the end of the night. Sometimes you just need to stop and take it all in. Have the DJ instruct guests to leave the dancefloor and get in line for the grand exit, make sure to specify that this is a private moment. Choose a song that is special to you, whether it’s a slow dance or a two-person dance party, this is just for the couple! Having a private last dance will give you both an opportunity to check in with each other; the wedding may be over but your life as a married couple is just beginning!
